MiniFAQ - Since we often get asked
the same questions many times, here's a short list of common questions and answers:
- Can I feed visiting foxes?
Yes, many people do - but please do not try to tame them into
being fed by hand.
Foxes will eat almost any table scraps you wish to leave out for
them. If you leave food out regularly, your visiting foxes are
likely to return each evening - this is a good opportunity to
watch them!
- I've seen a fox near my house - is it a danger to my
cat?
Foxes and cats generally ignore each other - foxes are very
timid and may run away from a cat. However, it is not completely
unheard-of for one to confront the other, especially when one party
is raising young.
- Can I have a fox as a pet?
Foxes are wild animals and generally do not make good/happy
pets, even if raised from birth. In fairness to the fox and to
yourself, do not attempt to tame a fox.
